Happy, secure women don't usually have abortions. Desperate
women do. Unfortunately, young girls are often not aware of their
options, and places such as Planned Parenthood are not actually
interested in helping them chose adoption or parenting. Giving a girl
the right phone number, or accompanying her to a crisis pregnancy
center, may be her baby's best chance to live because once Planned
Parenthood gets a hold of a young mom, the chance of her aborting
the baby is extremely high.

Option Line consultants refer each caller to a pregnancy resource center in
her area for answers to questions about abortion, pregnancy tests, STD's,
adoption, parenting, medical referrals, housing, and many other issues. The
toll-free number is available to callers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
(1-800-395-HELP). They pledge to treat each caller with kindness,
consideration and honesty providing accurate information about pregnancy,
fetal development, lifestyle and abortion risks and adoption. They do not
refer for abortions.

Do you know someone who has had an abortion? She may be in
serious danger: Girls who have abortions are much more likely to
commit suicide than girls who keep their babies. Also, the risk of
depression, alcoholism, drug abuse and promiscuity increases
greatly with abortion. There are many groups dedicated to helping
post-abortive women find forgiveness and healing.
Rachel's Vineyard describes itself as "a safe place to renew, rebuild and
redeem hearts broken by abortion. Weekend retreats offer you a supportive,
confidential and non-judgmental environment where women and men can
express, release and reconcile painful post-abortive emotions to begin the
process of restoration, renewal and healing."
Silent No More is an organization that seeks to destroy the shroud of secrecy
that surrounds the spiritual and physical pain women who have had abortions,
and their families, often feel. Their website offers many links to other
post-abortive and crisis pregnancy centers. Many of their speakers are
women who had abortions and hid their pain and regret from others for many
years but are now determined to speak out and bring the truth to light.
Victims Of Choice mission is to equip women (and men) to minister God's
forgiveness, healing and reconciliation to women who are experiencing
unresolved grief, guilt and shame following one or more abortions. They do
this by offering an in depth training program named Abortion Recovery
Facilitator Training.
