LIFE
What if we weren’t alive? What would it feel like? It would feel like nothing. Life is precious to us. It is
precious because God gave it to us. God knew us before we were even born. God clearly says this in Jeremiah 1:
4-5 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.” Life is a gift from
God. Some people don’t seem know this. There are teenagers who hurt and kill other kids. There are women
who abort their own children. And people who think killing themselves and others to further their religious beliefs
will get them to heaven. But these events only take away God’s precious gift.
People say there is too much murder in the world. And it is true. It is sad that we even know the word
murder. What we should know about is God’s gift of life. Parents today need to recognize that they are their kid’s
most important teachers, and they must be the ones who teach their children about God’s precious gift of life. Too
many teenagers today think it is funny and cool to do dangerous things that can hurt or kill people. Many parents
have now chosen to teach their kids at home just to keep them safe because other kids are bringing guns to
schools. There is no reason, that while kids are learning in school, they have to fear being shot. These
teenagers think that it does not matter if somebody gets hurt or killed because they do not realize that life is a gift
from God. They do not understand that they are being selfish and careless. If people were taught that God gave
us our life and that it is precious, they would care more about one another. Maybe then there wouldn’t be any
killing in schools.
Another way people show that they do not recognize God’s gift of life is by having an abortion. Mothers kill
their own children to make life easier. They destroy one of Gods gifts. Those who are aborted are taken away
from earth forever, and will never come back. And abortion does not only hurt the unborn baby, but also the
mother. If a mother aborts a child, she will not be able hide her sin from God. He sees and knows everything.
God watched as she took away that soul He put on earth, just as He watched when Adam and Eve sinned. And
they were not able to hide from God either. In Jeremiah 1:4-5 God says, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew
you.” God knows each of us and takes care of every soul he puts on earth, both the born and unborn. It is sad
that there is abortion because it hurts both the life of the mother and the child.
Suicide for religious causes is another example of how people take God’s gift of life for granted. There are
fanatic religious who believe that killing other people and themselves will get them to heaven. But it won’t. When
God gave Moses the Ten Commandments the fifth one was “Do not kill.” God also commands us to love each
other. Jesus tells us we must love and treat others the way we would like to be loved and treated. So, killing
others and ourselves is not only loving and treating others differently than we should, but also goes against God’s
commandments. Committing suicide for religious reasons does not bring us to God. It only takes us from
Him.
God did not put us on earth to be aborted or murdered. God did not put us on earth to kill others and
ourselves. He put us on earth to know, love, and serve Him so that one day we can be happy with Him in heaven.
Some have forgotten what the Lord has taught us. But we need to remember His words and treat others how we
want to be treated, and love others the way we want to be loved. Then people would realize how precious the gift
of life is, and there wouldn’t be any more murder.
